Me and a colleague put these together over 1 afternoon! Printed and all! Was a very tight deadline as we had the exhibition coming up soon after! This was the final result and the exhbition went very well!

This idea was thought up by the creatives in the office. Many adjustments were made but this was the final result. The advertisment was featured in national hospitality and leisure magazines!

I’ve had a fantastic time with the site over the past few years and some of the stories i’ve found, read and heard have been fantastic and I would like to thank everyone for all their support but unfortunately I couldn’t find the time to keep it up to date anymore.

Google is making a new venture into the new online social world with a feature called “+1” that is pretty much the same as Facebooks like button, but put in directly into the world’s biggest website and search engine.

Starting on Wednesday account holders who opt into it in Google Labs will start seeing a +1 isymbol next to each link in Google their search results.

Google explains this as a “public stamp of approval”. When you +1 a page, your name /google account becomes associated with that page “in search, on ads, and across the web,” according to themselves. It also shows up in a feed on your Google Profile, which is required to use the product.

My question is will it be a success?

Google have never been good at the social side of the internet, first their was Orkut then Google Buzz then Wave. This +1 looks like the most promising of the ventures so far but what does this mean for web designers? I’ve put +1 on several of my own sites now (including this one)…

but does this mean sites like Digg and Stumpleupon will now be less relevant?

Will SEO companies be going crazy +1′ing their own clients sites as i’m sure +1 is going to carry a big weight in terms of rankings?

Is this going to increase more search spam as people make/buy Google accounts in bulk and mass +1 their own content?

The Simple Design

Today I came across luvthecity.com

After deciding I potentially want to advertise with them in my FT job I browsed the site for a little while.

I love the simplicity of the site, honesty and how the advertising banner although large is non intrusive on the layout. I have found a few coding errors but nothing major and nothing the untrained eye would see. Great job guys and you never know may be using you to find my own new pad soon?!

I cant believe I can never come up with a domain name which sounds “cool” lol

Hopefully going to be setting up a new website soon but just need a name. I swear thinking of the name is harder than the design part! Lets hope I never have a child!

Doing 2 exhibition stands for my full time position and cant find any inspiration anywhere and personally i’m not too happy with a couple of things on this website since the redesign and can’t get my head around exactly what it is!

Typical creative – rarely happy with your own work haha!
